Introducing Patti Whack Scraps

Hi again! I keep forgetting to mention that my creative team member, Patti, now has her own blog site. It's called Patti Whack Scraps. She's got pictures of her layouts and much more!

Here's the header I created for her from pictures of her early spring crocuses and her garden angel:

Click HERE to go visit. If you do, please leave her a hug. This is the first time she's done anything like this so she needs some encouragement and a few pats on the back!!! It's been so cute watching how excited she is! Thanks!!

Patti, I really appreciate all your support and your friendship. It's been a thrill to watch you blossom just like your crocuses!!

As always, blessings,
Sally

Hi There and Many Thanks!

Thank you so much for the wonderful comments left here and on 4Shared regarding the Easter kit. I know everyone is busy but you wouldn't believe how motivated and encouraged I get from the simple "thank you's" left. It really makes me want to create and share more and more!

How's everyone doing? I've mostly had a good couple days. My niece, Denise, who is expecting, has agreed to allow me to throw her a baby shower in August and I'm really psyched! I can't wait to find out if she's having a little girl or a little boy. Of course, her little girl wants a baby sister and her little boy wants a baby brother!! LOL

Also, I found out that a group I paper scrap with is having a crop the end of April and I can't wait!! There's a bunch of my friends and family going, including my CT member, Patti, my stepsister, and three of my nieces! We should have a real blast. I don't know if I'll make it for all 12 hours, but I'm sure going to give it a go! Then, today, I found out that my 12 year old niece, Candy, brought home all A's and one B on her report card! Go girl! I'm really proud of you!! Here's a picture of her with my great-niece, Taylor. It was taken this past Christmas...in case you can't tell from the reindeer ears! LOL

I have another wonderful thing happening but I can't tell you all yet...the announcement will come soon! All I can say is that I'm going "fishing!" I know, tease...tease!!! LOL

I'm working on a kit that I absolutely love. It's a vintage kit inspired by the women's suffrage movement in several countries. So far, I've found images from England, the Netherlands, Australia and, of course, the US. While it is a theme kit, the papers, ribbons, etc. are suitable for many other uses. I'm also going to make sure there are a couple elements suitable to commemorate those who are voting for the first time this year. It's coming along nicely and I should have it up over the weekend if all goes well. It will be a kit for sale but there will be a freebie sampler.

The only thing that isn't so good is that I went to the doctor today and he feels it is time for my chest to be surgically repaired again; that we have reached the point where the benefits outway the risks. I'm pretty mortified at the thought of a 14th surgery, but I know I'll get through whatever comes with faith and the friendship, good thoughts, and prayers of those around me...including all of you!

Well, I don't have much else to say tonight (or should I say this morning!). I'll have that announcement for you soon and check back this weekend for the Women's Suffrage sampler freebie.

Blessings and prayers,
Sally

ps Don't forget that I'd love to see layouts you create with my kits!

Victorian Easter Quick Page Album & Freebies

Whew! My Computer's All Better! That was scary! My computer was barely functioning. I ran my virus checker but it didn't find anything so I had an online chat with HP and, after about an hour of checking this and that with them, they said it had to be a virus. I ran several online checkers and still found nothing. Then I decided to download free and trial versions of other ones and, lo and behold, the third program I downloaded found two viruses buried deep in my computer! It was able to get rid of them and now everything is back to normal...the computer that is, not me!!! LOL

I want to thank Patti for posting for me while my computer was "sick." Ha Ha. We have created a 12 page Easter Quick Page Album and two freebie Quick Pages just for all of you! The Album is for sale at $4.00...that's less than 35 cents per page! Here's the previews of the album:

To purchase the album, please send $4.00 by Paypal or Revolution Money Exchange (see post below) to wingedheartohio@gmail.com Once I receive confirmation of payment, you will be sent the links via email within 24 hours. Thanks!

Now, here'a preview of the two freebie quick pages you can snag!

You can get the freebies here.

I hope you enjoy the freebies and that you will consider purchasing the album. Your support would be much appreciated and I'd love to hear from you!

As always, blessings to you and yours,
Sally

Introducing my Creative Team Member "Patti"

Hello everyone, I am so excited that Sally has asked me to be one of her CT Members! Yeah!! I love her designs and she has such a giving heart that she gives most things as freebies so I know you like to check in often to get all the freebies! She has just recently begun to sell some kits and add-ons to help her finance buying commercial use design supplies to create with. Thank you for being such a blessing to her with your purchases and all your comments! She is having computer problems lately and has not been able to get here to her blog or upload New kits. She ask me to come post this message from her to let you know what is happening and to please check back often because as soon as she can there will be New Stuff here. We were very busy before Easter designing a "Quick Pages Album" for you but then her computer developed problems so we have not been able to get them uploaded. As soon as her computer is up and running properly we will get the Album uploaded here for you!!! We are just so excited about the Album that we just can't wait! Keep checking back, she so appreciates each and everyone of you!
Hugs
Sally and CT Member Patti

It's Ready...Introducing Victorian Easter!

Well, I actually have "A Victorian Easter" done before it is actually Easter!! LOL You know me and deadlines! It's uploading now so I'm going to go ahead and post the previews, then I'll be back with the links when the uploading is finished. It's almost 300 mb! I hope you like it; I'm pretty happy with it. I didn't make any stamps, which I did in the other Victorian holiday kits, but I might make them in the next day or two so stay tuned. Also, we'll have a Victorian Easter QP Album for sale in the next couple days also. I'd appreciate it if you consider purchasing it (if you like it, of course!).

Here are the previews:

Don't forget you may click on the images to see them "up close and personal." LOL I'll be back soon with the links.

Hope you like it. I'd sure appreciate your comments!

Happy Good Friday to You All!

Hope you all have a blessed Good Friday and Easter holiday. Those of you who are not of the Christian faith, I hope you have a spectacular weekend as well...and that your weather is better than it is here in Ohio. We're bracing for a storm with up to a half foot or more of snow!!! Oh my, I am so ready for spring and I've even someone who ENJOYS the colder temperatures! LOL We've had so much rain and flooding. My sister lives near the Stillwater Creek here in Ohio and it is almost 1 1/2 feet above flood level and rising...she still has flood warnings and the storm that is coming through appears to be staying far enough north that they will be getting more rain instead of all snow. Her basement has 3 to 4 inches of water in it now. I sure feel for her. Please keep her and the rest of those in the midwest who are being affected by the flooding and by the late season snow storm in your prayers. I also want to ask you to keep Patti (from my Creative Team) in your prayers as today is the anniversary of her Mom's death just two years ago. It's so hard losing your mother, especially when you were as close as Patti and her Mom.

I want to thank all of you who left such kind comments for me and Patti on 4shared regarding the Eileen B Quick Pages. I'm glad you enjoyed them!

Not too much else is going on here in my life. Pretty much the same old...same old: hurting like the dickens and even more frustrated than hurting! LOL I can't wait until the weather gets better so I can get out more. My wheelchair is out being serviced so I have a loaner which I hate! Hopefully mine will be back before it gets nice out because if it is...I'm 'outta here!! HA HA HA They call me "Speed Racer" in the building where I live!

Well, I'm going to close for now but I'm about to make another post with the previews of the Easter kit...it's done! Hooray!!

Blessings and love to you all at this Holy time of year!
Sally

Last Eileen B Quick Page Freebie

Here's the last of the Eileen B Quick Page freebies Patti made for you:

You can get it here.

Also, I'd like to offer you a nine quick page album made from the Eileen B. kit by Patti (from my creative team) and myself. It's a real beauty and combined with the three freebies, you'll have an entire 12 page album! You get all nine of the new pages for just $3.00 - about 33 cents a page! Here's a preview (click on the image for a close-up view):

To purchase the album, please send $3.00 using PayPal or Revolution Money Exchange to wingedheartohio@gmail.com. The links will be sent to you via email. Revolution is a new service that works similarly to PayPal. For details about it and to receive a $25.00 incentive payment for joining before the end of the month, see the previous post.

Thanks for considering purchasing the Eileen B. Quick Page Album and enjoy the freebie! The Victorian Easter kit should be up tomorrow or the next day. I'm working on an alpha and have to make the previews, but it is finished other than that!

Alternative to PayPal & Asking For Your Help

Hi everyone. I have been introduced to a new way to pay/receive money for online transactions. It's called Revolution Money Exchange. I checked it out thoroughly and it is definitely legit. Right now, they are offering $25 to each person who signs up for an account as an incentive bonus. There are no fees to send/receive money if you tie it to your bank account - just as you do with PayPal. The $25.00 showed up in my account immediately after I signed up!

Now, here's how you can help me. For every person who signs up that I refer, I receive $10.00! I would love to buy lots of new commercial use products that I could use to make YOUR freebies. This would be a great way to help me do that without costing you anything and you get $25.00 to boot!

If you would like a referral (which is required for me to get credit for you joining), please email me at wingedheartohio@gmail.com and I will send you a referral ASAP. I really appreciate your consideration of this offer which ends March 31st!

Blessings,
Sally

Click here to go get it! Enjoy.

Blessings, as always,
Sally

Just an update! LOL

Hi all. I've been such a bad blogger lately! Not much going on in my life except the same old same old. LOL I'm hoping to get the Easter kit up this weekend, but you know I never can be certain. At least I know I'm far enough along in creating it so that you'll definitely have it before Easter! Ha Ha Ha! Here's a preview of one of the papers:

Let's see...what's on my mind. Well, I'm anxiously awaiting news of whether my niece, Denise, is going to have a baby girl or boy. We probably won't know for three or four weeks. I'm going to make her a scrapped album like I did a couple years ago when she had her last baby, little Wes. She does a great job adding the pictures and journalling to make it her own. I seem to have the bug right now to paper scrap so it will be a fun time for me to make the album.

I'm also planning on scrapping some pages for pictures of another great-niece, Alyssa, as she goes to school this coming fall. I just can't believe how fast she is growing up. She'll be five in May. Just goes to show you what God can do as she wasn't expected to live a week because of kidney issues (she only has one working kidney and it only functions partially). She was premature and the diagnosis is renal dysplasia and polycystic kidney disease. Well, I'm here to tell you that this little girl is a fighter! She's done so well and is such a bright little girl who can brighten the world up just by smiling. When she's put's her little hands on your cheeks, her nose up against yours, and tells you she loves you...well...there's no better feeling in the world! (Some of you already know about all this but please forgive me for repeating the situation for my newer blog readers. PRETTY please?)

Let's see...what else is on my mind. Well, for one, aren't you just so tired of all the political crap? I sure am! I wish the campaigns were just about the candidate's positions on issues, their qualifications, etc., instead of all the personal crap. Whatever your political beliefs are, make sure you get out there and VOTE! Let your voice be heard!!

Well, that's about it for this update. Talk 'atcha soon!

Blessings to one and all,
Sally

We're buried in snow in Ohio!!!!

Hi everyone. Just thought I'd share a couple pictures of our huge blizzard-like snowstorm here in Ohio. The first is the snow drift on my FIFTH floor balcony! I can't even open my screen door to take some better pictures of the scenes around me because of all the snow blocking and leaning against it! The second picture is what I see when I look down at street level. It's through the screen and the rails of my balcony so it's not wonderful but you get the drift (pun intended!!). Yep, that's a car buried in the snow!!

LOL Well, I guess I won't be going anywhere in my wheelchair soon! I'd get lost in a drift and not be found until spring! ROFLMBO At least the snow has pretty much stopped but it's many a years since I've seen this much snow at one time! Makes me want to go out and play -- NOT!!

Stay safe and have a great weekend! Oh, and thank you to those who have left such wonderful comments and well wishes when downloading the Eileen B. kit. Not too many have even though it's been downloaded several hundred times already (which does makes me happy!). Boo Hoo LOL

Blessings,
Sally

Eileen B is Here!

Hi everyone! So sorry it has taken so long, but I finally finished Eileen B. It really was a labor of love and I thought of Eileen every minute that I was creating. I am so very happy with how this kit came out. While I LOVE the Victorian kits, it was really nice to work with something different. I used tons of commercial use products from some of my favorite designers including Melanie Ann Designs, Sue Wood Designs, Kim Smith Designs, and more. I'd like to especially give a shout out to Kim B as I used not one, not two, not even three...but FOUR of her products. I especially love the Build-a-Bag I used to make the purse.

I have made the decision to offer my kits as freebies (other than my Victorian Holiday Series) for thirty days, then I will put them up for sale for a reasonable price. There will be kits that I put directly up for sale but I will always have freebies for you! I would like to continue purchasing the commercial use products so that I may create even nicer things for all of you, but that takes money that I don't have. Even if I only sell a couple kits a month, it would help tremendously. I will re-organize and label my past kits that will now be up for sale, as well as remove the passwords. They will then be given to the purchaser via email after confirmation of payment.

Now, on to Eileen B! It's a huge kit, just under 250 mb. Here's the previews:

For dial-up users, the links are here.
For those with high speed connections, the links are here.

The password for each file is "missher" (without the quotes). These links will expire on April 7th.

I'd love to see what you create from this kit and look forward to your comments! Check back soon as a little birdie told me there will be more Eileen B. quick pages for you! Tweet Tweet!

Blessings to all of you,
Sally

Introducing Eileen B

Hi everyone. While I'm still working on my Victorian St. Patrick's Day and Easter kits, I was inspired to make a kit in honor of my stepmother, Eileen B., who passed a few weeks ago. (See posts below.) Her favorite color was blue so I used three shades of it and added a pretty shade of green, lilac and white to create a soft, feminine kit. Here are the colors:

The complete kit should be ready in the next couple days for you, but one of my creative team members, Patti, created this beautiful quick page using the kit and has graciously allowed me to offer it to you as a preview of what's to come. Here it is:

You can download the quick page here.

Enjoy and check back in a couple days for the complete kit.

Blessings,
Sally

Hi all and a link to some freebies!

Good evening to everyone. I hope you've had a great weekend. I'm still on the mend but have very little energy. Since I'm not creating much in the way of freebies right now, I thought I would tell you what Ruthie over at Sugar Shack Scraps is up to! She is having a 75 DAY FREEBIE BLITZ at her blog and is currently on day 5, which are some really cute baby-themed tags. Check out her blog where you can still pick up the the past ones. Don't forget to leave her some luv and tell her I sent you! Thanks, Ruthie, for permission to send my readers to you!

I hope to have a little something for you in the next few days.

Blessings to you...have a GREAT week!

A quick update...

Hi all. I really thought I was getting better...I really did! But, no! LOL I have never really recovered from the flu last week and, in fact, have been having a lot of trouble breathing the last three or four days. Come to find out today at the doctor's office that I have pneumonia in my left lung. Boo Hoo! I had two breathing treatments, a shot of steroids, a shot of antibiotics, and came home with some scripts for more of the same. I'm kind of out of it now and am going to bed so this is just a short update but I wanted to let you all know that I'm still under the weather, but I am definitely STILL kicking! LOL I appreciate your prayers and good thoughts, as always.

Blessings to you and yours,
Sally

Updates and My Gratitude

Hi everyone. Sorry I've been MIA but the last week has been so difficult. My stepmother's illness and her death really threw me for a loop. Her funeral was very nice (as nice as they can be). I managed to speak and to read a poem I wrote, but it was tough to get through. My step-sister aranged a very nice dinner after the funeral service. The weather was absolutely terrible. We had about six inches of snow and then the freezing rain hit. I managed to fall down the steps in front of the rec center where the dinner was held. I went down pretty hard and felt like a beached whale laying there in the freezing rain, but am less sore now. On top of that, the very same evening, I came down with the flu...really nasty stuff. That was Tuesday and I'm just now being able to start keeping anything down.

One of the things that got me through this difficult time was the wonderful comments and emails I received from all of you. How blessed I am to have your support! It means so much to me. Never doubt that a kind word, an expressed prayer, or a gentle hug sent on the internet can lift a person and help then cope with whatever they are going through. I'm living proof! You are all priceless to me.

I'm starting to feel strong enough to start designing again so I've commenced work on the Victorian Easter kit. I'm really happy with it so far. The colors are a bit brighter than the rest of my Victorian kits have been. Here they are:

Check back on Monday (President's Day). I hope to have a little something for all of you then.

Many blessings...and have a safe weekend!

With gratitude,
Sally

Please Pray for My Family

My Stepmother, Eileen, passed away late Thursday evening. She was 84. As per her wishes, she was not intubated or put on a breathing machine. She was lucid most of the time and even joked with us occasionally. She was on a BIPAP machine to force her to inhale and exhale until my stepbrother, his wife, and his adult son got here from Delaware. He sped the whole way. As soon as they arrived and were able to spend a little time with Eileen, we had the BIPAP machine removed and she was given a few mg. of Morphine to ease her pain. She passed peacefully in about 15 to 20 minutes in a room filled with her loved ones.

Please keep us in your prayers as we deal with this loss. She became my stepmother in 1966 and I will miss her greatly. Thanks, everyone. It is comforting to know that my family and I are being lifted up in prayer.

If you wish, check out my post on 12/24/07 which was about Eileen and her being a cover girl for a calendar put together by Meals on Wheels. She was so proud that she was chosen to be on the cover!

Thanks again for your prayers and good thoughts. I wish all of you many blessings. Don't forget to tell those in your life that you love just how much you do love them. You just never know when that might be the last thing you say to them.

Sally

Victorian Valentine 2008 AO Freebie Kit

Hi everyone. I'm going to make this quick because my stepmother is in the hospital and quite ill. She's been in about a week but was just moved to Intensive Care and I'm will be going to the hospital in just a few minutes.

Here's the promised Add-on to last year's Victorian Valentine kit. I hope you like it! Here's the preview:

You can download it here. Sorry, I didn't have time to make smaller download files. This one is 62 mb. I'll try to do that as soon as possible.

Please pray for my stepmother. She is 84 years old and has emphysema and COPD, and was just diagnosed with blockages in her carotid arteries on both sides. Her condition is quite serious. I'll check back as soon as I can. Thanks.

Blessings,
Sally

The news I've been waiting for!

Well, all you wonderful people, my miracle is complete! My CT results came back with absolutely no sign of reoccurence or spread of my cancer! I don't even have to have another CT scan (at least for the kidneys) until January of '09! I'm so blessed and so grateful to God that this was the result. I was really frightened! I just had to share this great news with all of you and thank you for your support and prayers!

Blessings to all of you,
Sally

Check this out!

Hi there. Heather Greene (Scrappy Pony Designs) has a wonderful winged heart freebie on her blog. It's just gorgeous -- of course, as you can imagine, I'm a bit partial to any winged heart. Stop over and check it out. She has bunches of other freebies, too. Make sure you leave her some love if you download and tell her I sent 'ya! Here's a picture of the winged heart freebie:

I Finally Did Some Scrapping!

I haven't done much actual scrapping lately, but did make a few layouts...some for friends but a couple for me. I thought I would share one of them with you so you didn't think I was not ... horrors ... a REAL scrapbooker! Tee Hee. The layout is one of my baby sister, Susie, with her beloved Puppy Girl. I used Atomic Cupcake's Puppy Love kit. That doggie is something else. I don't think I've ever known a dog who chases rocks the way she does. You read right...ROCKS! Don't bother throwing toys or anything else. All she wants to play with is rocks. Silly girl! It doesn't do much for the baseboards!

BTW, if you haven't visited Atomic Cupcake for a while, her "all you can download" pricing is ending on February 1st. After that everything will be a la carte. Check out her website for details. I purchased her actions & templates so I have lots of new stuff to play with when designing for YOU!

Also, I have decided to do some new Valentine's elements for all you faithful bloggers who already had my kit from last year. It just wasn't sitting right with me not to offer you something new. So....stay tuned! I won't give you a deadline since I can't seem to make any of them, but I will promise it will be before Valentine's Day. LOL

Have a good one,
Me

Woo Hoo! A Baby is on the way!

Much to my surprise, I'm going to be a Great-Auntie again! Of course, no one is more surprised than my niece and her hubbie since he had a vasectomy two years ago! LOL

Another little baby to love...I'm just overwhelmed! The way my niece told me was so precious. She said she knew I struggled to find reasons to go on (because of the health issues), so she decided to give me one and it would be here in about nine months! LOL I hope she has an easy pregnancy and a healthy bundle of joy. I know the baby's big brother and big sister will be thrilled...okay, well, maybe! LOL Here's their Christmas picture:

That's little Wes (he's 2) and Taylor (she's 4).

I can't believe next year there will be THREE! That will bring my total of great-nieces and great-nephews (counting step-family and by marriage) to, drum roll here, FOURTEEN! I am a blessed woman! One thing that's certain, he/she will be cute! Denise makes such pretty babies! :) I guess we'll have to give some credit to Daddy Wes, too! LOL

Just had to share my wonderful news. It's so nice to have something special to share instead of just bad health stuff!

Blessings,
Sally

Victorian Valentine Layout

Hi all. Here's a layout that Patricia from my Creative Team made using my Victorian Valentine kit. It's her and her grandson from some time ago. He's becoming a strapping young man now! Great job, Pat. It's always a thrill for me to see my designs in use! Thanks for sharing.

Health Update & Victorian Valentine 2006 Freebie Kit Re-Release

Hi everyone...hope you all had a good weekend! I'm happy to report that I am feeling somewhat better but am spending a lot of time just resting. The rash I still have is driving me absolutely BONKERS. It's all over my legs and looks and feels like an itchy sunburn! Ouch! LOL I do definitely feel as though I'm on the mend, though. I don't have any results to report as of yet from the CT scans of my chest and abdomen.

As promised, I am re-releasing my Victorian Valentine freebie kit from last year. It is a HUGE kit, a little over 270 mb. Heck, I didn't even remember half of it myself! LOL It's a good thing my friend, Patricia, had a copy of it because I lost mine when my old hard drive hit the floor. I was going to make an add-on, but I will probably just keep working on the Easter kit since I'm not being very prolific because of my health issues and, as hard to believe as it is, Easter is only two months away! I do feel bad for my faithful readers who have followed me for a year and already have this kit...so you never know, maybe I'll come up with something else for Valentine's Day. Maybe just a few new elements or so.

When looking at this kit, I realized my designs have come a long way! Your feedback plays a tremendous part in that so kudos to all of you who leave me wonderful messages not only of thanks, but of suggestions!

Here are some previews, but please note that not all of the papers or elements are included in the previews:

Like all my creations, this kit is for personal use only.

I only used MediaFire this time. If you have any problems with downloading, please email me and I'll help in any way I can. Enjoy!

The dial-up links are here.
The high-speed links are here.

Blessings to you and yours,
Sally

Well, Boo Hoo!

Sorry, everyone, that the kit is not up yet. I was waylayed by dehydration and an allergic reaction to the contrast I had to drink on Monday for the CT scans. After spending some time in the hospital, getting IV's and meds, I'm feeling a bit better.

Hopefully, it will be up tomorrow. I'm so glad all of you are so very patient with me. I really appreciate that you stick around even though my deadlines keep getting postponed over and over! LOL

Take care and be safe this weekend.

Blessings,
Sally

I am such a BAD blogger lately!

Hi everyone. Thank you so very much to all of you who have left wonderful and encouraging comments here on my blog, and those who took the time to email me with greetings and sent e-cards. I so appreciate all of you. I think I have the best blog friends there could possibly be!

I also want to apologize for being such a bad blogger lately. I've been feeling overwhelmed by my health issues. I finally went yesterday for the CT scans and chest x-ray to follow-up on the kidney cancer. They were supposed to be done two months ago, but I kept putting them off. Hopefully, the results will be as good as those of the colonoscopy!

I'm off now to upload my Victorian Valentine's Day freebie kit from last year and will re-release it today. I'm working on an add-on freebie and an add-on for sale. This year's whizzing on by already! I'm going to start working on a Victorian Easter kit. I didn't do one last year so it will be all new!!

Blessings to you and yours,
Sally

Happy New Year Miracle

Hi all. I hope everyone has had a wonderful start to their New Year. I have! God has blessed me with what I think is a real miracle! Last week, I had my colonoscopy and EGD. Now, mind you, I had been given dire warnings from the specialist as to the importance of this test and that the outcome might not be favorable. Well, much to the doctor's surprise (and my own!), I had not even one little bitty polyp. No tumor or other masses, either! It is the first time in over twenty years that I have been having regular colnoscopies that this has happened to me! All the blood loss I was having came from a tiny tear in my rectum above an internal hemorrhoid but it was cauterized and I'm fine!! Thank you all so much for your prayers. They have definitely been answered.

I have the CT scans, x-rays and blood work Monday for my 9 month follow-up from the kidney cancer surgery so I am feeling much more confident that they will bring good news also! Please keep those prayers coming! You gals are the best and I am blessed by your company!

I'll be back to designing really soon and I have some great ideas for new kits. If you have anything you'd like to request, leave a comment and I'll add it to my to-do list if at all possible!

Blessings to all of you,
Sally

Oh, drat! No New Year's Eve Kit

Sorry, everyone, but I won't have a Victorian New Year's Eve kit this year.

I would like to request prayers and good thoughts. I'm not doing well at all physically. In fact, I'm pretty darn sick and in so much pain. I'm also anemic and have no strength right now to sit at the computer. I have a bunch of tests coming up including a colonoscopy and EGD scheduled for the 3rd, and CT scans with contrast of my chest and abdomen, a chest x-ray, and bunches of blood work on the 7th, and my yearly heart work-up with echocardiogram, EKG, etc. on the 21st. What a way to start the new year. Boo hoo!

I saw a pain management doctor Thursday hoping to find an alternative way to control my pain meds other than narcotics. No such luck. I went to him taking one narcotic, now I'm taking two! It is going to take me a week or so to get used to this regimen. In the mean time, I'm quite woozy and even more dipsy than I usually am! LOL He explained it was absolutely imperative that we get my pain in control as it is most certainly affecting my diabetes and heart issues. He said the shakiness and quivering I have in my legs when I stand even long enough to brush my teeth is a direct result of the pain shutting my body down. I received quite a lecture about not taking enough pain meds and how it is putting my overall health in jeopardy.

I'm quite frightened about the results of the colonoscopy as I have had cancerous growths (polyps) removed in the past and just had part of my right kidney removed last March because of cancer. I'm having a lot of bleeding and have become anemic and my white blood cell count and other lab values are really off.

Please forgive me for not being able to make the new year's kit...I'll make it up to you on Valentine's Day. Thanks so much for your understanding and thanks in advance for your good thoughts and prayers. What ever comes, I know I'll get through but it helps me bunches to know that all of you are rooting for me.

Blessings,
Sally

Merry Christmas!

I wish for all of you a blessed Christmas full of laughter, joy, peace and love. If you do not celebrate Christmas, I wish you all the same!

Please pray for all of those who are suffering, lonely or feeling lost during this holiday season. Reach out to someone with a kind word or deed. There are so many people who spend Christmas alone with no one to wish them "Merry Christmas." My heart hurts for them, especially those who live in my apartment building (for seniors and disabled). Remember the reason we are celebrating and the lessons Christ taught about kindness, forgiveness and tolerance. No matter what your religious preference is, these attributes are so needed in this time of violence and suffering in the world. I pray for peace for all.

Thank you for the kindness you have all shown to me, for your support, and prayers. You have all made a difference in my life this past year and I am so grateful for each and every one of you.

As always, I wish you many blessings.

Merry Christmas, my friends!

My Stepmom's Famous!

This evening, I had Christmas with my stepmother, stepsister and brother-in-law. My gift from Eileen, my stepmother, was a complete shocker! She's a cover girl!!! Our local chapter of Meals on Wheels together with Season of Suppers (a pet food drive for pets in need) created a calendar with photographs of Meals on Wheels recipients and their pets. Eileen's picture appears on April's page and on the cover!! What a surprise and such a wonderful gift! She said it took her over 80 years but now she's famous! Here's the cover picture:

Here's info from the calendar:

"The Pet Food Drive was developed after discovering that many of MOWAA (Meals on Wheels) recipients who had pets were sharing their meals with their dog or cat because they couldn't afford to purchase pet food. All the proceeds from the calendar will go directly to local Meals on Wheels programs to develop or sustain pet food feeding programs."

All Banfield pet hospitals have been collecting donations and contributing to the Season of Suppers. They are selling the calendar on their website and PetSmart is selling the calendar in their stores nationwide. It's a great cause.

I'm so tickled for Eileen. She's so proud that she's a Cover Girl!!

Hope all of you are having a great holiday season. Make sure to check back next week for a Victorian New Year's kit!

Blessings to all of you and have a terrific weekend!

I am SUCH a Dummy!!!

My Christmas kit from last year that I re-posted -- it is from 2006 NOT 1996! Oh my, oh my! I'm blaming it on all the medicine I take and the weather. That's my story and I'm sticking to it!!!!! My, oh my do I feel like a stupid you know what. I even made the password 1996! If Patricia (from my creative team) hadn't mentioned it, I would have never known! She tried to convince me not to tell anyone that all of you would think I've been designing for 10 years but, nooooooooo, I had to confess! ROFLMBO All I can say, as you can see, is oh my, oh my!!!!! All over the web I've put links to the post saying "1996." Shaking head here and smiling a silly, stupid smile!!! :P

Me

Happy Sunday to everyone!

Hope everyone is safe and warm. If you like football and are watching the Browns/Bills game, you know what the weather here in NE Ohio is like! Blizzard bowl! Go Brownies. Okay, so you didn't know I was a HUGE sports fan but now you do! LOL :P

One of my blog readers purchased my Angels kit and sent me a nice note with her payment. She included her blog address and I checked it out. She's got a bunch of great freebie stuff. Check her out and you won't be sorry!!! Here's the link:

Catt's Scrapps

I've been truly gratified by the response to the freebies I've posted this holiday season! Thanks so much to all of you who have taken the time to say "thanks" and to email me with wonderful and uplifting comments. It warms my heart!

I swore I wasn't going to make any more Christmas stuff but I just can't help myself!! In addition to the New Year's kit I'm working on for my Victorian Holiday series, I'm also working on an addition to last year's Christmas kit. I'm almost finished with it so come back in the next few days to pick it up! Tessie, I included some nativity scenes just for you! Well, maybe not JUST for you, but at your prompting!! LOL

Stay warm and safe!

Love 'ya all,
Sally

My Christmas Surprise - Please Read!

I belong to a Yahoo freebie group (not scrapbooking) called FreeBeesForMe. It's a great place to get freebies and samples -- no crap or have to do this or that offer to get something. Just links to real freebies and samples. Not long ago, the group owner, Melissa, started an offshoot group for FreeBeesForMe members called FreeBeesCafe so that we could chat and get to know each other better. It has just blossomed into the most wonderful place with even more wonderful people. We have had a lot of adoptions for Christmas and there is always someone who will offer a kind word of support or lift someone up in prayer. Melissa works really hard and there are always contests to win gift cards and other prizes.

There are a number of us members in NE Ohio, in fact there are several of us within an hour of each other. Well, today my door buzzer rang and on the intercom I hear one of the members, Leann, saying that she was here and had something for me. Now, mind you, I've never met her before. Her and her hubby brought me a huge bag full of presents. Everything from a scrapbooking book and paper, to a really cute snowman, candy, pens, address book, Christmas magnets, candles, stickers, and just so MUCH more! My did I have a hard time keeping myself together. I was so surprised -- no, SHOCKED -- that someone I didn't even know would do something so kind for me. She knew I did scrapbooking because I created layouts for three people as a prize for one of our daily contests. I'm just so very grateful, not just for the gifts but for their kindness and new-found friendship. God is good!

You know, I've always helped everyone I could and used to do a lot of charity work when I was able-bodied. It gave me so much pleasure to do so but I'm not sure I truly understood just what it meant to the recipients until I became disabled and could not work. Times are hard, my health struggles many, and I often become discouraged when the world seems full of rude, thoughtless and intolerant people. Today, Leann and Dave not only lifted my spirits considerably, but they also restored my faith in this world we all share.

If you do sampling and freebies yourself, why not check out FreeBeesForMe? Tell them I sent you. My screen name is "freebies4forme" but they know my real name also. You won't be sorry, I promise you.

I hope you all have many blessings this Christmas.

Christmas Around the World EXTENDED!

Because so many people in the USA are without power due to the ice and snow storms, Kimberly (Fishinmom) asked those of us who contributed to the kit if we wouldn't mind extending the deadline until December 24th. Of course I told her ABSOLUTELY no way!! Yeah right! LOL So, you have a little more time to get all your downloading done of this FAB kit!! Here's the link again if you haven't already visited.

Christmas Around the World

Keep those fingers flying!

NEW Victorian Christmas 2006 Brag Book Pages

Hi everyone. Hope you're having a great weekend. We're bracing for a big storm moving toward us. I feel so bad for those in the plains already affected by the ice storm with power outages, as well as those in New England who are digging out. The plain states are getting hit again with snow and now it's heading our way. At least we won't get it as bad as those in Oklahoma and elsewhere but they are calling for freezing rain followed by 4 to 10 inches of snow. Guess I'll be staying in and wrapping Christmas presents while I watch the white stuff come down. Then again, I'm also working on a Victorian New Year's kit so stay tuned!!!

Judy, aka Baby Doe, has created some brag book pages using by Victorian Christmas 2006 kit, and is sharing them with all of you!

You may download them here.

Please make sure you leave her some love when you download them. I know everyone is busy but the "thanks" have been slow in coming. I've had close to 5,000 downloads (counting each downloaded zip, not individual people), and not even 100 comments! Gee, if I didn't like doing this and sharing with all of you so much, it could make a gal feel less than appreciated!!! :)

Stay safe out there!

A Special Gift From a Blog Reader & Thank You to All

Thanks to all of you who have left some sweet notes and thank you's on my posts and at 4Shared. I really appreciate each and every one of you who took the time to say thanks! Blessings to you in return.

I had one very special email and since this is truly a reflection of Christmas Around the World, I just have to share! One of my new blog readers, Rebecca-Rose, sent me this layout and note:

"Hallo. I found your Blog through your Contribution to the CATW Kit. I think your Art is wunderful! Love your Victorian Christmas...So I strolled over your Blog and read about your Health Problems - I dont know what to say - Thats why I thought I make a LO for you. Hope you enjoy it. Thats my way to tell you, that far away in Germany someone is thinking of you and sending you all the good Thoughts and Prayers. Bless You! Love Rebecca-Rose"

Rebecca-Rose, you are a very special person to take the time to make a layout for me and brighten my holiday! I love it and I am so very grateful! Fröhliche Weihnachten!

When I was searching on the web trying to find out how to say "Merry Christmas" in German, I found a site that has "Merry Christmas" is tons of languages!!! You can find it here.

Need Your Prayers, Please.

Hi everyone. Hope you are all having fun downloading and haven't worn out your mouse yet!!! LOL

My loyal blog readers know of all my MANY health issues and I won't go into all of them here and bore you, but please keep me in your prayers the next few days. I have to go to the Cleveland Clinic on Wednesday to see a GI specialist. I've had recurrent colon polyps for years, some of them cancerous, as well as esophageal stricture and erosive esophagitis. I've been having symptoms recently and it's time for testing again, but this is just for the initial visit. I also have tests most of the day on Friday to follow-up on the kidney cancer and make sure it hasn't recurred or spread to my lungs (which is where it usually spreads to). This will be my nine month post-surgery check-up and I have to have a CT scan of my abdomen and pelvis with and without contrast, a chest x-ray, and bunches of lab work done. I'll be glad when all of this is over and I know everything is okay (or not). I still haven't been fitted for the brace for my chest and upper abdomen. I feel the parts of my sternum moving around more frequently and it is driving me BATTY!!! Yikes...it makes me hurt just typing about it! LOL

Anyway, please keep me in your prayers and send good thoughts this way. I appreciate each and every one of them!

Hugs and blessings,
Sally

Download Issues

It appears that some people are having problems with downloading from 4Shared. There are no limits to the number of downloads per file, but the problem comes from many people trying to download the same file at the same time. Please be patient and try again later. For the Christmas Around the World files, it might help if some of you start at the bottom of the list and work your way to the top. I'm not sure it will, but it is worth a try.

By the way, I REFUSE to publish nasty comments regarding the downloads. I have had a couple stating they "wasted" their time because no one stated there was a limited amount of downloads. Puhleeze! Bah humbug to you and you know who you are!

To the rest of you, thanks for your patience and understanding that we have no control over the download sites.

Blessings,
Sally

Thanks, Rachell & Note to Everyone

Thanks for letting me know the link was not working. I had forgot to activate the file. Silly old me!! LOL It's fixed now.

I'm not sure why all of a sudden the last two images I've uploaded to Blogger were not getting larger when clicked on, but instead asked if you wanted to open or download them. I uploaded the images to Photobucket and replaced the others, but they still don't get as large as previously. I'm investigating it now and I'm off to PSP to see if I can get larger preview of the paper patterns in Wrinkled Wrap. Geesh!

Hope you're having a GREAT weekend! Stay safe.

Blessings,
Sally

Want to win my Victorian Christmas Angel Kit?

I'm having a contest! I will be offering my Victorian Christmas kit from last year again; however, I'm creating an additional kit featuring Victorian Christmas Angels that will be for sale. Want to win it??

A while back I did a challenge at DSO and created a layout about me. It wasn't easy because I usually don't scrap myself. I used Jeanne Baechtold's "Refreshing Meadow" kit. Here it is:

I was thinking that I'd like to get to know my blog visitors a little better so I'm having a contest to do just that. To enter, all you need to do is create a layout about yourself and submit it to me. I will ask my creative team (Patricia and Judy) to help me judge the entries. Here's the rules:

1. Use any designer you like, just make sure you credit the designers whose products you used.

2. Include information about yourself. This can be anything you feel you want to share: where you live, your career, your likes or dislikes, etc.

3. The layout should reflect what you consider your personal scrapbooking style to be.

4. Have your layout to me before December 15th.

That's it for the rules! The layouts will be judged on overall design and creativity. I'll post as many entries as I can on this blog -- I'm sure I won't get hundreds of them so I should be able to post most of them! LOL

I hope to get to know some of you better! Send you layout to me at wingedheartohio.blogspot.com. Can't wait to see them and good luck!

Blessings,
Sally
